Michael Sheehan, Senior Pastor

Pastor Sheehan answered the Call to serve the Lord in the summer of 1978 and has been serving in the Baptist church ever since.  He believes with the call comes a responsibility to prepare. Pastor Sheehan is a graduate of Mars Hill University with a degree in Religion and has a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Seminary along with additional studies in theology. Pastor Sheehan has served at Cross Roads as Pastor twice. The first tenure was from 1989-1992 and the second tenure began in 2004.  Pastor Sheehan is passionate about all generations discovering the Lord doing new things in their lives! He gets ‘jazzed’ seeing God’s people exhibiting signs of growth and fruitfulness!  Michael enjoys household projects, is an avid chess player, loves Boxer dogs, & would love to plant, harvest and eat from a great tomato patch! His wife, Kathy, is a Realtor with The Allen Tate Company. They have three children: Sarah, married to Michael Reddish, and currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee; Anna, married to Barry Burgess, and currently residing in Charlotte, North Carolina; and Nathan, who is currently attending North Greenville University.

IMG_7559Joey Estes, Associate Pastor in  Music & Worship




Joey studied at North Greenville University and Gardner-Webb University where he received a BA in Religious Education. He has served Cross Roads Baptist since 1991. His love for God and music provides his passion to lead people to worship.  He enjoys fishing, attending University of South Carolina sporting events, and spending time with his family.  His wife, Lisa Crook Estes, is an Administrative Assistant with the Spartanburg County Sheriffs Office.  Their son, Tyler, serves as Minister to College and Students at Mountain View Baptist Church in Boiling Springs, SC.  They reside in Mauldin. Heath Carruth, Minister of Student Ministries


Heath received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Studies from North Greenville College in 1999. He came to Cross Roads in May 1998 after serving as a youth ministry intern at his home church (Bethlehem Baptist Church, Roebuck) for 2 years.  Heath is passionate about seeing students come to find Freedom when they receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. He enjoys watching the spiritual transformation in student’s lives as they move from being a middle school student to becoming a high school graduate. He loves spending time and intentionally building stronger relationships with his adult leaders and students to help disciple them.  He loves spending time with his family. He also enjoys Clemson Tigers football, golf, fishing, coaching football, and hanging out with students. Heath is married to Lacey Doughty Carruth and they have two daughters, Olivia and Claire. Kayla Holbrook,  Minister of Children

Kayla studied at  Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia where she received a BA in Religion: Church Ministries. Being raised as an Army Brat and becoming a believer as a young child she has seen the impact children’s ministry has around the world. She has a love for children that come from all backgrounds. Seeing these children come to Christ and feel the love that only our Heavenly Father can provide is her mission both in the church and with her own family. She loves showing Jesus on a personal level with the children while providing age-appropriate learning. Kayla has a husband, Tyler, as well as two young daughters, Lillian and Madeline. She loves spending time with her family, staying active, and peanut m&ms. Contact Kayla

Ashley has a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education. She has taught preschool for over 20 years and has been a member of Cross Roads Baptist church since 1996. She is passionate about children and introducing them to the Savior at an early age. She wants to help children get a jump start to a great education. Ashley believes that a successful future hinges on a relationship with Jesus. Outside of weekday preschool and church, Ashley enjoys spending time with her family. She has been married to her husband Ken for over 20 years and has two boys, Andy and Bryant. Ashley loves to play games and is a little competitive! God has blessed her with a great family and church. She considers it a true blessing to be able to do what she is passionate about every day.
