A Note from the Pastor…
Greetings to all on Mothers’ Day!
We extend a special greeting to all Mothers here today at Cross Roads! Today we say a special word of thanksgiving for you. Mothers are God’s handiwork. They are also the instruments of God’s handiwork in our family. Every one of us can thank God for the countless ways our Mothers have influenced and shaped our lives. The loving touch, the correction, the words of wisdom, the prayers, and even the spiritual direction given to us are just a few of the ways the Lord has shaped and blessed our lives through our Mothers. To honor Fathers and Mothers is a Godly thing to do! It is God’s desire that we do so! For all the Mothers here today we all say, “Thank God for you! Thanks for all you have done and all you are doing to build up the Kingdom and strengthen our families!” And all God’s family said….”AMEN!”

Trip to Carowinds – June 4th – Cost $30
The Children’s Ministry and Youth Ministry will be going to Carowinds. Kids who’ve completed 1st grade or older may attend without a parent. Children K5 and younger must have their own chaperone age 18 or older. See Lou Ann Jenkins with any questions. Sign up sheets are outside the Allstar Station and Lou Ann’s office.

Today is Mother’s Day—there will be no evening activities/studies tonight.
Wednesday Nights

We will have our regular scheduled Prayer Service and activities this Wednesday night at 6:30.
Choir practice at 7:30 pm.

Meetings this week…
The Nominating committee will not meet today. They will meet on May 20 at 4:30 pm.
The Stewardship committee will meet Monday @ 6:30 pm.

Leah McCall’s group will prepare the food for the shut in meal on Wed. May 16; group #1 will deliver.

The Squares of Love Quilters will meet in the FLC from 9:00 am until noon on Thursday.

The Beemers will meet on Thursday at LaRee McKee’s home at 6:30 pm.

A new Worship Service is coming to Cross Roads…
1. When? Sunday June 3, 2012 10:30 AM
2. What? A new contemporary style worship service called IGNITE – Band instruments: guitars, keyboard, drums, vocal ensemble, praise songs. The message will be simulcast in the Sanctuary and the Family Life Center.
3. Why? We are reaching out! It is our prayer to reach people for Jesus Christ-to use every means available to us. It is “Missional”. A new service of worship is a new tool for the Gospel of Jesus Christ
4. How? Many enthusiastic, excited and passionate volunteers who want to see a real break out in reaching people for Jesus Christ through the ministries here at Cross Roads Baptist by prayer and passion, by God’s doing! This is truly a God thing! Pray for this new worship service, this new mission of Cross Roads Baptist Church!

-World Changers – The church will sponsor a church-wide Mission Trip to Brunswick, GA, July 16-21. Anyone in middle school or older interested in going please sign up in the Welcome Center. We have 15 spots for people to go. If you have any questions regarding this wonderful opportunity to serve, please contact Heath Carruth.
