About Cross Roads Baptist Church

Our Purpose: We believe our purpose is to bring people to a saving faith in Jesus Christ and membership in His family; develop them to Christ-like maturity; and equip them for their ministry in the church and mission in the world in order to magnify God's name.

Our Doctrine: We believe the Bible to be the inspired and authoritative Word of God.  It is without error and serves as the basis for all our beliefs.  This church accepts The Baptism Faith and Message, the 2000 statement adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention, as a general statement of faith.  (Pamphlets are available at the Welcome Center)

Our Government: We believe the church is a "Theocracy."  Christ is the Head of His Church and leads through Godly leaders that meet Biblical qualifications.  We are a Pastor-led church and entrust our pastoral staff and deacons as shepherds who oversee the direction and vision of our church's ministry.  

Every active/resident member shall have the right to vote on the following matters:

1. Ministerial Staff

2. The Annual Church Budget

3. The Election of Officers

4. The acquisition of property and indebtedness

5. Amendments to the Constitution and By-laws of the church

6. Any important recommendation brought to the church's attention by our various committees during a called business meeting.  

Our Philosophy and Ministry: We believe every member is a minister.  According to Ephesians 4, every member has a God-given responsibility to the body of Christ to minister and bear fruit.  It is the pastor and staff's responsibility to help each member discover their spiritual gifts, and then equip and train them to do the work of the ministry.

Our Mission Vision: We are committed to World Missions and actively support the Southern Baptist Cooperative Program.  Cross Roads is also committed to supporting other worthy mission agencies that are making an impact in our world today.  We are committed to encouraging our members to personal involvement in both foreign and home missions through praying, giving and going.

Our Affiliations: Cross Roads is an autonomous church and maintains the right to govern its own affairs, independent of any denominational control.  Recognizing, however, the benefits of cooperation with other churches in world missions, this church voluntarily affiliates with the Southern Baptist Convention in its national, state and local expressions.
